Step 3: Prepare for the Classroom Activity

Know what’s included—and what you’ll need.

Each STEM Kit includes all essential components to complete the activity. Use the checklist below to prepare:

Included in each STEM Kit: PCB, battery holder, LEDs, resistors, battery, pin fastener

What you’ll need to provide: soldering irons, safety glasses, wire cutters, ventilation or fume extractors (if available), and tables/workspace for students

Step 4: Ready, Set, Solder!

Time to build and learn.

Bring the activity to life in your classroom with engaging, easy-to-use resources designed to guide your students every step of the way. Begin with the Introduction to the Electronics Industry video to connect the project to real-world careers. Then, use the Instructional Soldering Video to demonstrate proper techniques. Finally, give each student the Printable Step-by-Step Activity Guide so they can confidently follow along and complete their project with success.
